Professional Development

CPA Bonus: We financially assist and reward our Employees for taking and passing all parts of the CPA exam within the first 3 years of their full-time start date.

CPA Exam & Study Materials: The Firm purchases the Becker CPA Review course for eligible employees and reimburses first-time state exam fees.

Continuing Professional Education: We provide continual training to hone your technical expertise and develop your leadership skills.

HSC University (HSCU): HSCU is a multi-year soft skills coaching program designed for all full-time team members.

Technical “Levels” Training: Internal training programs provide technical skills training through real-world examples and use of online software.

Career Advisors: Our Firm succeeds when our people succeed. Your Career Advisor helps you set goals to take you where you want to go in the Firm and career. They’ll follow your progress toward attaining your goals and help you assess your overall performance, including strengths and areas of growth.

Mentor Program: In addition to Career Advisors, the Firm offers team members a mentor to assist in learning the culture and support the individual’s growth in his or her career.

Professional Dues: AICPA and state professional society dues are paid by the Firm.

Education Assistance: We provide tuition reimbursement for approved job-related courses through accredited schools.

Benefits and Perks

Profit Sharing & 401(k): Immediately upon hire, you are eligible to participate in a 401(k) Plan. After one year, the plan allows for both a company match and a potential profit-sharing contribution.

Life Insurance: A policy is provided at no cost to employees.

Financial Wellness: Throughout the year, we offer onsite training and educational sessions on retirement and financial planning. Individual sessions with our 401(k) plan advisors are offered as well.

Covered & Convenient Parking: Employees are provided with a parking space near the office.

Flex for Your Day: Team members whose responsibilities, position, and work performance allow them to be effective & efficient while working remotely, may do so when team/client/training/firm needs allow.

Summer Hours: From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the Firm closes at noon on Fridays.

Winter Break: The Firm closes, from December 24 – January 2 for winter break to enjoy the Holidays.

Alternative Work Schedule: Team members who are interested in a less than full-time career can request a reduced work schedule.

Busy-Season Perks: We frequently provide catered dinners for employees who work late, healthy snacks, and treats during the day with breakfast on Saturdays. We provide professional chair massages on-site.

Flex Saturdays: To help with work-life balance during busy season, Saturday work hours are left to the employees’ discretion to meet their required hours while ensuring timely and exceptional client service.

Fun Stuff: Annual HSC Firm Summit, Company Picnic, Family Outings, Christmas Party, Tax Day Party, Department Retreats, and lots of treats during busy season (including weekly massages).

Wellness

Health Insurance: A group plan is offered to all employees with the Firm currently paying 90% of single coverage premiums and 50% of family coverage premiums.

Dental & Vision Insurance: Dental and Vision Insurance policies are available through our cafeteria plan.

Flexible Spending Accounts: Flexible spending accounts provide employees the opportunity to set aside pre-tax dollars to be used for childcare and health care expenses not covered by health insurance.

Paid Vacation Time and Holidays: The Firm offers paid vacation time and holiday time, including the day after the tax deadline, and one personal day per year.

Short-term Disability: Employees on disability leave may be compensated for up to six weeks pay. Additional long-term disability coverage options are available to each employee.

Maternity/Parenting Leave: Employees on maternity leave may be compensated for up to six weeks’ pay. Employees on parenting leave may be compensated for a full week’s pay and an additional week at one-half his/her normal salary.

Wellness Program & Annual Health Screening: The program offers group activities to promote a healthy lifestyle and includes a free annual health screening that provides the employee the opportunity for insurance discounts.

Wellness Activities & Wellness Bucks: The Wellness Committee plans firm-wide fitness challenges to help combat stress and promote wellness–especially during the busy season. Employees can earn Wellness Bucks by participating in wellness activities.

Employee Assistance Program: A completely confidential counseling program is available to employees and their families at no cost.

Giving Back to Our Community: We believe in giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Our Firm supports many nonprofit events and encourages our employees to be involved in charitable activities you enjoy such as Habitat for Humanity builds, Alzheimer’s Memory walks, United Way Loaned Executive and Day of Caring, and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
