Director of Collections

Karen Schu is the Director of Collections at HSC Medical Billing & Consulting, LLC. She has worked in the medical billing industry for over 30 years. She is responsible for a team of revenue specialists and their performance of daily billing and insurance accounts receivable functions for a number of medical specialties including: Anesthesiology, Behavioral Health, Cardiology, Family Practice, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics-Gynecology, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Pulmonology. She partners with the staff to identify problems with billing, coding, and payments in order to provide an exceptional customer experience, find effective solutions and continually maximize client revenue.

Karen began her career in the medical billing industry at a small community hospital in Ohio and subsequently gained experience with a large orthopedic provider, a family practice office, and then she spent 11 years billing exclusively in the anesthesia specialty before becoming a member of the team at HSC Medical Billing & Consulting, LLC.
